The Fly Shop Story

What began as a hobby but quickly turned into a passion Wayne Jones – Founder of The Fly Shop has over 30 years fly fishing experience.

Beginning in 1989 when he picked up his first rod to becoming youth champion in 1996, and more recently becoming Anglers World Champion in 2017 and being part of the Welsh Hawks fly fishing team who are current Airflo Angling Water Champions. Wayne has travelled to some of the finest angling travel destinations in the world including Australia, New Zealand, Cayman Islands and most recently Cuba. Wayne regularly attended the fly dressers guild as a youngster where he gained an abundance of knowledge and experience in the craft of fly tying.

Wayne has brought together some of the most talented fly fishers from the UK and Ireland to create the very best fly design team giving us the opportunity to produce and offer some unique products as well as some all-time favourites, which have all been tried and tested and have proven highly successful.

With the aim to offer truly cutting-edge designs created with quality materials and using only the best hooks our premium flies are guaranteed to increase catch rates. All of our products were born in Wales but are designed for the world.
